We practitioners should not expect people to make offerings. Such thoughts are greed and are the appearance of self as well. Be humble and courteous so that we can eliminate our attachment to the appearance of self. Following the ever existing true self in our daily life means we are practicing "sila(precepts), samadhi (contemplation)  and prajna (wisdom)."

If we crave for even a blade of grass in this Saha world, we will be reborn into it and remain in samsara (cycle of births and deaths). A blade of grass symbolizes an idea. and an idea may lead us to another cycle of birth and death. Our thoughts may arise endlessly due to the karma that we created during the previous countless lives. Without the right mindfulness, we won’t be able to introspect ourselves and we will follow the karma to transmigrate without even knowing it. We may appear to be practicing solemnly, but are in fact mostly absorbed in various illusive thoughts.

The purpose of listening to the expounding of Buddhadharma is to put it into practice so that we may deal with our keen attachment and self-belongings. Neither should we continue to be attached to the self, endless illusory thoughts, others, or right or wrong. Remember to recite the name of the Buddha and follow his teachings as often as possible!

Delivering sentient beings is not by words or preaching the Dharma. Instead, what we should do is to practice diligently and attain a stage where we can impress and convert them without deliberate efforts. This is the true deliverance of sentient beings.
